A Philadelphia man will serve time in prison following the Abington Police’s work of uncovering an illegal firearm during a routine traffic stop in 2023.

According to a report by Carl Hessler Jr., Luis Alberto Antonetti Jr., 46, of the 3300 block of Saint Vincent in Philadelphia, was sentenced in Montgomery County Courts to nine-and-a-half to 19 years in a state correctional facility on felony charges of carrying a firearm without a license, person not to possess a firearm, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in connection with an April 2023 incident in the Willow Grove section of Abington Township.

According to the report, an investigation that took place around 2:54 p.m. on April 23, 2023 when Abington Township Police Department observed a Toyota Camry traveling west on Old Welsh Road fail to signal as it changed lines in addition to having an expired inspection and inoperable driver’s side brake light. After smelling marijuana emitting from the vehicle, police said that they asked Antonetti to inspect his vehicle, which resulted in these charges.
