Abington Police Department is hiring for new police officers

The Abington Township Police Department is actively seeking new officers to join its ranks. 

Applications for the 2025 recruitment cycle are currently open, with a deadline of March 31, 2025. Prospective candidates can submit their applications online through the department's official website. 

The starting salary for new officers is up to $109,346 , commensurate with experience.  In addition to competitive pay, the department offers a comprehensive benefits package, life insurance & pension plan, prescription plan and vision care, tax-deferred retirement savings, longevity and college incentives, paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.

To be eligible, applicants must meet several criteria:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Demonstrate physical and mental fitness to perform the duties of a police officer
  
  

The selection process includes a written examination, a physical agility test, and a comprehensive background investigation. Candidates who successfully complete these stages will be considered for the position.
