Breaking: emergency crews on scene after explosions reported on Roy Avenue in Abington Township

Flames and smoke were reported on the 2000 block of Roy Avenue in Abington Township shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Montgomery County dispatch is reporting a flames and smoke due to an explosion on the 2000 block of Roy Avenue in Abington Township shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday. 

A food truck, a 4-door pickup truck, and a detached garage were all involved. The garage sustained heavy damage according to reports on scene. The vehicle also suffered damage. Dispatch stated that explosions were reported in the area, possibly caused by propane tanks. 

Crews from Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, Abington Fire Company, Upper Moreland Township Fire Department and Roslyn Fire Company are all on scene.

A witness at the scene said everyone within close proximity has been safely evacuated.
