A Philadelphia woman charged earlier this month by Montgomery Township Police for two separate theft from locker incidents at Planet Fitness near Five Points has been charged by Hilltown Township Police with numerous felonies for allegedly committing the same crimes at a Bucks County location in December.

Tierra Melanie Nesmith, 37, of the 2100 block of Homer Street, was charged Feb. 11 with four felony counts of access device fraud and three felony counts of identity theft, as well as three counts of theft from a motor vehicle and access device fraud, police said.

Police said Sunday morning they successfully executed an arrest warrant for Nesmith as a result of an ongoing investigation into a reported theft from a vehicle parked at the Planet Fitness lot in the County Line Plaza shopping center at 731 Route 113 on Dec. 27, 2024.

Additionally, Doylestown Township Police filed 13 felony charges Feb. 12 against Nesmith, including eight counts of access device fraud, criminal trespassing, two counts of receiving stolen property, and two counts of theft by unlawful taking, stemming from a Feb. 3 incident, according to charging documents.

Nesmith was charged Feb. 5 with felony access device fraud, and misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property, for alleged offenses on January 22 at the 751 Horsham Road fitness center in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, according to the affidavit.

Then, she was charged separately by Montgomery Township Police for the same offenses for another alleged theft the same day. All in all, Nesmith faces six charges across two arrests.

On Jan. 22, at 8 p.m., a victim living in the township called police to report a theft of her credit cards at Planet Fitness earlier in the day, police said. The victim arrived at 2:07 p.m. and left at 3:10 p.m., and she left her gym bag unsecured in a locker in the women’s locker room, police said.

Her wallet was in the bottom of her bag, concealed under a coat, police said. Shortly after leaving the gym, the victim got an alert on her phone from her bank asking if she authorized $500 in transactions at Walgreens at 2:45 p.m., according to the complaint. She flagged the transaction, but the purchases of a $500 Amazon gift card and a $500 Target gift card had already been completed, police said. However, a transaction at the Giant on Knapp Road was declined, according to the complaint.

The victim checked her bag and found her wallet was there, but two bank cards and $65 in cash were missing, police said.

On Jan. 23, at 2:48 p.m., police were called to Planet Fitness for another report of a stolen credit card. Upon arrival, the victim told police that, the day prior, at 1:45 p.m., she placed her coat and belongings in a locker in an unsecured locker room, police said.

At 3 p.m, she went to retrieve her belongings and found her car keys missing from her coat pocket, police said. When she went to her car, the victim found her key sitting on the passenger seat with the door unlocked, according to the complaint.

A Visa debit card was taken from her purse. Then, Bank of America contacted the victim to report a purchase at Walgreens in Montgomery Township for $500 for an Amazon gift card, police said. Two other transactions at Giant in Montgomery Township were declined, the first for $307 and the second for $400, per the complaint.

Throughout the investigation, police located a dark blue 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee involved in botha incidents, which was also at the scene of a retail theft in Horsham Township in 2023, according to the criminal complaint.

Police allege Nesmith was one of the defendants in that incident; by using arrest photos of Nesmith to compare to video surveillance footage, she was identified as the suspect, police said.

Nesmith allegedly fled from a traffic stop on Jan. 27 by Horsham Township Police, per the affidavit. Prior to allegedly fleeing, police identified the driver as Nesmith.

According to court records, Nesmith was arraigned on Feb. 6 in both cases and jailed at Montgomery County jail on $77 cash bail in each case, which includes a probation/parole detainer. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8 at 9:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.

Nesmith has nine active criminal cases at the Magisterial District Court level in Montgomery County, for arrests from Dec. 19, 2024 to Feb. 6, 2025.

Her latest arrest was in Abington Township on 11 felonies related to burglary, criminal trespassing and access device fraud, and 11 misdemeanors related to theft and receiving stolen property, stemming from an arrest on Jan. 19, according to court documents. Nesmith was jailed on $10,077 cash bail.

Nesmith has been jailed at Bucks County jail on 10% of $25,000 cash bail for each new Bucks County arrest, per court documents. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
