Montgomery County’s Green Lane Park will host two public educational programs in February 2025. On Saturday, Feb. 8, “Reading the Wild Signs” will uncover the signs and tracks that animals leave behind, and on Saturday, Feb. 22, “Waterfowl Watch” will track early migrating birds.
Reading the Wild Signs
Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m.
Many of the park’s wild animal inhabitants are seldom seen, but very much active in winter. Join in a search for the “signs and signatures” left behind by some of our wild creatures. We’ll hope for snow cover, but the program goes on regardless of conditions.
Suitable for ages 8 to adult. The program is FREE, but pre-registration is required by calling 610-287-6970. Meet at the Walt Road boat launch near the flagpole, 1051 Walt Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
Waterfowl Watch
Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m.
The spring migration of ducks, geese, and swans will be underway by the end of the month. Join in a search for early migratory and resident birds at the Green Lane Park Important Bird Area. You will quickly learn why the park is one of Eastern Pennsylvania’s premier birding sites!
Suitable for ages 12 to adult. The program is FREE, but pre-registration is required by calling 610-287-6970. Bring binoculars and meet at the Tennis Court parking lot, 2298 Green Lane Road, Green Lane PA 18054.
