Several SEPTA Regional Rail lines were temporarily shut down Saturday afternoon after a woman was struck and killed on the tracks at the Melrose Park station.
The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. and is being investigated by law enforcement, according to SEPTA officials.
Service on the Doylestown, Warminster and West Trenton lines was suspended because trains were unable to pass through the Melrose Park station. SEPTA deployed shuttle buses while the investigation was underway.
Rail service later resumed on all three lines, though trains were operating with delays of up to 15 minutes.
The woman’s identity had not been released as of Saturday evening.
