A 15-year-old girl will stand trial in Montgomery County Court on homicide-related charges stemming from the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy inside his Abington Township apartment, according to a report.
Precious Christine Hamilton, of Eddystone, was ordered to stand trial following a preliminary hearing on charges of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, possession of a firearm by a minor, and carrying a firearm without a license. The charges are connected to the Oct. 6, 2025 shooting death of Baseem “Seyven” Baker at his apartment on Old York Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township. Due to the violent nature of the case, Hamilton is being charged as an adult.
Hamilton is scheduled for formal arraignment early next year, at which time a trial date will be set. The case has been assigned to Judge Risa Vetri Ferman. Assistant District Attorney Lauren Elizabeth Marvel is prosecuting the case, while defense attorneys Joseph Todd Schultz and Scott Frank Frame represent Hamilton.
Police were called to the apartment around 5 p.m. on Oct. 6 for a report of an unresponsive person. Officers found Baker on the bedroom floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. An autopsy later ruled the death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
Investigators said Baker’s mother left the apartment earlier that afternoon, leaving her son alone with Hamilton, whom she described as his girlfriend or close friend. When she returned, Hamilton was gone, and Baker was found unresponsive. Surveillance video showed Hamilton leaving the apartment building alone at 3:22 p.m.
Witnesses told police the two had been in a romantic relationship for several months and had no known conflicts. Investigators later learned from Baker’s cousin that Hamilton had shown them a small, loaded revolver the day before the shooting and had discussed firing it from the apartment window.
Hamilton later told detectives she accidentally shot Baker while grabbing the revolver from under the bed, claiming it discharged unexpectedly. She admitted stealing the gun from an acquaintance months earlier and said she panicked after the shooting and did not call for help. Hamilton left the apartment and was picked up by her mother
The firearm has not been recovered, and the investigation remains ongoing.
