CONSTRUCTION DETOURS

Church Road, Greenwood Avenue to see 16 months of detours

The closures will take place beginning in early- to mid-September until the end of 2026

  • Local

Beginning in early to mid-September 2025, motorists in the area should prepare for the implementation of new long-term traffic detour patterns as part of ongoing construction activities. These traffic changes are necessary to facilitate the next phase of an infrastructure improvement project and will remain in effect until the project's anticipated completion at the end of 2026.

Proposed project improvements include roadway widening to support left turn lanes along Church Road at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue.

The construction contractor will be introducing the following directional traffic patterns:

  • Church Road will remain open to eastbound traffic only between Rices Mill Road and Washington Lane. This means that vehicles will be able to travel east along Church Road but will not be permitted to travel west within this section.
  • Greenwood Avenue will remain open to northbound traffic only between Route 309 and Township Line Road. Southbound traffic will not be permitted on this stretch of Greenwood Avenue.

To accommodate these changes, clearly marked detour routes will be in place for drivers attempting to travel in the restricted directions:

Westbound traffic on Church Road and southbound traffic on Greenwood Avenue will be detoured via Township Line Road, Washington Lane, Route 309, and Easton Road. Detour signs and guidance will be provided along these alternate routes to assist motorists in navigating the affected areas safely and efficiently.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and remain alert for construction crews, changing traffic patterns, and signage in the work zones.
