The Abington Township Police Department has announced that the solicitation permit for EcoShield, a pest control company, has been officially revoked for the month of August due to violations of township regulations.
As a result, EcoShield representatives are not authorized to solicit in any neighborhoods within Abington Township during this time. If you see anyone representing EcoShield going door-to-door, do not engage with them directly. Instead, please report the incident immediately by calling 911, so an officer can be dispatched to investigate.
To help protect your home from unwanted solicitations, the Abington Police Department recommends a few simple steps. First, consider posting a “No Soliciting” sign on your front door or in a clearly visible location. You can also register your address on the township’s “No Solicitation” list, which provides additional legal protection. You can sign up at abingtonpd.org
If you have either a sign posted or are on the list, and a solicitor still comes to your door, please do not confront them. Instead, call 911 right away.
Residents should also be aware of the general rules regarding solicitors in Abington Township. All solicitors must carry a valid permit while working, and they are required to respect any “No Soliciting” signage. However, it’s important to note that non-profit organizations are exempt from the permit requirement, though they must still honor “No Soliciting” signs.
"We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and respectful community environment," the police department wrote. "If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Abington Township Police Department."
