Christopher Harris, 45, is facing multiple felony charges after a stabbing incident spilled over into a Burger King, according to police.
On Aug. 1, around 10:08 p.m., police officers from Upper Moreland Police Department were dispatched to Burger King, located at 106 North York Road in Willow Grove, after a victim contacted officers from inside the fast-food chain to report he was stabbed in the leg, according to police.
Before the altercation, the victim was waiting for the SEPTA Route 55 bus near Burger King, according to police. The victim saw an unknown black male, later identified as Harris, sitting on a bench by the bus stop.
When the bus arrived, the victim and the Harris both entered the bus through the front door. As the victim walked behind Harris, the victim stepped on Harris’ foot by accident, causing Harris’ backpack to lean up against the victim, according to police. The victim then pushed Harris forward slightly so that his backpack was no longer leaning on him, according to police. A verbal argument ensued, and both people exited the bus before the bus ever started moving from the stop.
When they got off the bus, Harris shoved the victim in the upper chest with two hands, according to police. The victim struck Harris back, hitting him in the face. Harris then swung at the victim, hitting him in the right leg. At this point, the victim felt liquid on his leg and walked away from the bus stop into Burger King. Once inside Burger King, the victim checked his leg and discovered a puncture wound, according to police.
Harris then started to follow the victim toward Burger King, according to police. The victim locked the door once he was inside Burger King because the defendant was coming at him with a knife, according to police. Harris, while standing by the door, began to lick the knife that he used on the victim, according to police. Harris then told the victim, “I am going to unalive you.”
According to police, the puncture wound was 40mm in length.
Harris had a puncture wound to his left hand that required several stiches. Police discovered a black Husky folding knife inside Harris’ right rear pocket prior to an ambulance transporting him to a local hospital.
Around 10:20 p.m., police officers observed blood on the concrete steps to the Montgomery County Court Annex Building, along with a backpack covered in blood. The blood drops continued northbound on York Road towards the front entrance to Burger King.
Harris is now charged with multiple felony charges of aggravated assault, as well as simple assault and other charges.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
