As the 2025–2026 academic year approaches, the Upper Moreland School District (UMSD) is actively recruiting new team members across a wide range of positions.

With roles available in education, transportation, food services, custodial work, and extracurricular leadership, the district is encouraging qualified candidates from the community and beyond to explore opportunities to make a difference in the lives of students.

UMSD is currently hiring for both certified and non-certified positions. Among the openings is a 5th Grade Elementary Teacher at Upper Moreland Intermediate School, with applications due by Aug. 22, 2025. The district also seeks substitute teachers and substitute classroom assistants, in partnership with Kelly Services.

In support roles, the district is hiring several instructional paraprofessionals, including multiple vacancies at the high school and middle school levels, as well as a position with a preference for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the district’s transition program. Additionally, there are openings for non-instructional assistants, providing essential support within schools.

For those interested in school health services, UMSD is seeking both certified and non-certified substitute school nurses, ensuring student wellness is prioritized throughout the year.

Transportation and Operations Roles

To keep students moving safely and efficiently, the district is also recruiting for bus drivers (both regular and substitute), as well as van drivers. These roles are based out of the Upper Moreland Transportation Building and offer a great opportunity for individuals with flexible schedules.

In the facilities department, the district has posted openings for full-time and part-time custodians, with an application deadline of Aug. 13, 2025. UMSD is also hiring part-time and substitute food service workers to help support meal service across the district.

Extracurricular and Student Support

The district is hiring for several extracurricular advisor roles, including Quiz Bowl Advisor, Medical Club Advisor, Gaming Club (RPG Focused) Advisor, and Class Advisor for the Class of 2029 at Upper Moreland High School. Coaching roles, such as Assistant Field Hockey Coach and Winter Track Assistant Coach, are also available.
