Abington Township and Penn State Abington have partnered to offer a scholarship opportunity for eligible township residents.
This scholarship provides a financial award of $5,000 to students who meet specific criteria, helping to make higher education more accessible and affordable. The application deadline is May 15, 2025.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be current residents of Abington Township and have lived in the township for at least one full year prior to applying. They must also be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at Penn State Abington on at least a half-time basis, which is defined as taking six or more credits per semester.
In terms of academic requirements, incoming first-year students must have earned a minimum high school GPA of 2.5, while transfer and current students must maintain a college GPA of at least 2.5 to remain eligible. In addition, although all eligible students are welcome to apply, preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025–2026 academic year.
