Cheltenham Township Assistant Fire Marshal arrested for allegedly raping woman at knifepoint, according to report

Albert Sergio Jr., an assistant Fire Marshal of Cheltenham Township, was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a woman at knifepoint, and then breaking into a home, according to a report from NBC 10.

The Souderton native is accused of sexually assaulting a woman he was familiar with at knifepoint on Friday, April 25, and then hiding out in the woods after breaking into a another home, according to the report. Sergio Jr. allegedly broke into another home on East Chestnut Street by breaking a window after the attack to hide.

He was arrested in Hilltown Township in Bucks County early Saturday morning after K9s tracked him into the woods. 

 According to the Township website, Sergio Jr. has been working as an Assistant Fire Marshal/Code Administrator for the township. He has been employed for the last 11 years.

The case is still under investigation.
