'Highly intoxicated' patient assaults hospital employee at Jefferson Abington Hospital

Justin Archer, 29, of the unit block of Ash Stoker Lane in Horsham, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault stemming from an incident at Jefferson Abington Hospital, according to police.

A police officer from the Abington Police Department was dispatched to 1200 Old York Road for a report of an assault from a hospital employee.

The victim, who worked as hospital security, was in full uniform and performing job duties when police arrived on scene. The victim told police that Archer was “highly intoxicated” and intentionally spit on his face.

According to police, Archer “intentionally ad knowingly caused bodily injury to the victim.”

The incident caused the victim “annoyance and alarm,” according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Police issued a warrant for Archer. He also faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
