Giovanni Figueroa, 35, of the 5500 block of Miriam Road of Philadelphia, faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property, according to police.

On March 26, an Abington Police Department police officer observed a gray Honda traveling northbound on Old York Road in Abington Township at 12:13 p.m. According to police, after running the license plate through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the license plate came back as stolen out of Philadelphia County.

The officer conducted a traffic stop after the driver pulled into a Dunkin Donuts parking lot at 1701 Old York Road. With backup officers arriving on scene, the officer who conducted the traffic stop took Figueroa into custody without incident.

Figueroa told police that the vehicle was parked in a tow lot in Philadelphia, and that he had “just been driving it around for a few days.” Figueroa told police that he was a former employee at this tow lot where the vehicle was parked, but no longer works there.

Detectives determined the vehicle was reported stolen in December 2024.
