There is so much to do in the Willow Grove area, there is no real need to leave your own backyard for a bit of fun and excitement. Let’s check out the events occurring from Monday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 6 with This Week Now.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., the Penn State Lady Lions will face Marywood in volleyball at the Abington Campus. The Abington Township Pubic Library, 1030 Old York Road, in Abington, will host a Mindfulness Meditation on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to noon. Get your weekend started off on a “zen foot” with this relaxing and calming session with Richard Lyntton. Reservations are appreciated and can be made online here. The Abington Township Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crestmont Park and Community Building, 2595 Rubicam Ave., in Willow Grove. The event is free to attend, and open to all ages. Free, family-focused festivities will include a Touch-a-Truck event, a Trunk-or-Treat, and crafts. All are welcome to come in costume to get into the holiday spirit. A rain date is set for Oct. 20 at the same times. For more information, visit https://www.abingtonpa.gov/abingtonfallfest.

The MacSwiney Club will host a Charity Quizzo event at the club, located at 510 Greenwood Ave., Jenkintown to raise funds for Bike MS on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to the Team Mustachio’s MS Society’s City to Shore bike ride. Cost is $30 per person, and up to six members can be on the same team. A cash bar will be open, and guests are welcome to bring their own snacks. There will be raffle baskets to win, as well as prizes for top preforming teams. Street parkig is available. RSVP via the Facebook post here, or email [email protected] by Friday, Oct. 4.

On Sunday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m., the Keswick Theatre will play host to the former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, as they make up half of “Beat,” playing the hits from the 80s, along with Steve Vai and Danny Carey. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with all ages welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are on sale online here. For more information, call the theatre at 215-572-7650.
