Tony Roni’s in Willow Grove will host a week-long Dine and Donate to support the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology and its Foundation Student Awards from Monday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. Any guest that mentions the Eastern Fundraiser when placing an order will have 10% of the sale go directly to support the student awards program. The Glenside Jenkintown Restaurant Week will be held Sept. 23 to 29 will be held courtesy of the Downtown Glenside Foundation and the Jenkintown Community Alliance. Various restaurants throughout the two communities will come together to offer special menus, new dishes, and discounts. Restaurants will include Drake Tavern, The Highland, Newbolds, Herman’s, 152 Public House, King’s Corner, Moma Mediterranean Kitchen, Pizza Wheel, The Ways, Trevi, and Via 417 are all involved. The Roslyn Branch Library, located at 2412 Avondale Ave., in Roslyn, will host a “Stitch and Chat” from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27. Those of all ages are welcome to bring in a project they are working on and join the group for a social conversation. Listed as “a great way to get to those unfinished projects or get started on a new piece.” No registration is required.
A fun afternoon of pick-up softball game is scheduled at Overbrook Elementary School in Abington on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Described as “semi-competitive” in play, guests are asked to have some prior experience playing the sport before the day’s event. Those interested can RSVP on Meetup here. The school is located at 1750 Edge Hill Road in Abington.
The Jenkintown Painting With a Twist will offer a session with “Halloween Kitty” on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at its location at 209 Leedom St., Jenkintown. Designed for a 16-by-20-inch canvas, the silhouette of a black cat on an orange pumpkin will be created with instructor-led, step-by-step guidance. Painters are recommended to be age 6 or over.
