The Abington Township Police Department recently responded to a scene expecting a medical services call, but instead had to also file charges against a local resident.
Andrew R. Jordy, 38, of the 2300 block of Edwards Road in Roslyn, was identified by police on Oct. 18, around 4:04 p.m. they responded to a call for medical care in a residential area near his home. Upon arrival, police said they found Jordy asleep at the wheel of an idling 2021 Hyundai Genesis. Police said he was hunched to his right side and had a firearm in his hand.
According to reports, police removed Jordy from the vehicle, and said he seemed “clammy” and appeared to be “lethargic, had slow movements, and that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot.” Police said they also detected an odor of alcohol from Jordy, as well.
Police added that Jordy was read his rights and that he’d declined to have blood drawn for testing. He was found not to have a valid conceal carry permit for the firearm, said reports.
Jordy faces a felony charge of firearms not to be carried without a license, and a misdemeanor charge of Driving Under the Influence, with an impaired ability.
Jordy was released on a bond signature bail in lieu of an unsecured $5,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 21 at 9:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge John D. Kessler.
