From synagogues to sports facilities, the funds will support security features and response training
State Senator Maria Collett (of Montgomery County, District 12) has announced $269,000 in Nonprofit Security Grant Program funding for nonprofit organizations to protect the safety and security of their facilities.
“With hate-related incidents on the rise, it’s more important than ever that local organizations serving marginalized communities are protected and secure,” said Senator Collett. “All of us deserve to feel safe – no matter where we live, what we look like, or how we worship. I was proud to support this vital grant funding to bring us closer to that reality here in the 12th District.”

Administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), the Nonprofit Security Grant Program assists nonprofit organizations who principally serve individuals, groups or institutions that are included within a bias motivation category for single bias hate crime incidents, as identified by the FBI.
Awards are used for security enhancements like equipment or technology purchases, safety and security planning, threat awareness and response training, or any other safety or security-related projects.
