Accident involving a car and teen bicyclist have traffic slowed in Abington Township

Emergency crews were called to the area of Fitzwatertown Road in Abington on Tuesday afternoon for the incident of a vehicle striking a bicyclist.

According to Montgomery County’s computer-aided dispatch, calls were received around 3:52 p.m. on Tuesday for a vehicular accident at Fitzwtertown and Moreland roads in Abington Township. Those at the scene reported that a car struck a bicycle. The bike, driven by a female teen, was reportedly “conscious and alert,” but did sustain a minor head injury.

Bryn Athyn Fire Company Ambulance, as well as the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad were called to the scene to tend to injuries.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area or to avoid the intersection if at all possible, as emergency workers assist in injuries and clearing of the area.
