The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services announces a significant update effective Tuesday.

The Office of Senior Services will change their name to the Office of Aging Services. This new name reflects our mission to serve and support all older adults in our community, ensuring they have access to the resources and services they need as they age.

The Office of Aging Services will continue to provide the same comprehensive programs and assistance that our residents have come to rely on, including nutrition programs, in-home services, caregiver support, and more. This name change is part of our ongoing effort to be more inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of older adults in Montgomery County.

Why the Change?

The name "Office of Aging Services" more effectively represents the broad range of services we offer, not just to individuals over a certain age but to all older adults. It highlights our commitment to supporting healthy aging for everyone in our community, whether they are entering retirement or are well into their later years.

What Stays the Same?

While our name is changing, our dedication to serving Montgomery County’s older adults remains steadfast. All existing programs and services will continue without interruption, and our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in our community is stronger than ever.

“Montgomery County is proud to serve our older residents with the highest level of care and support,” said Jennifer Haeussler-Barnhart, Administrator of Aging Services. “The change to the Office of Aging Services better reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of our aging population in a more inclusive and forward-thinking way. We are excited about the opportunities this brings to enhance the lives of older adults in our community.”

Looking Ahead

With this name change, the Office of Aging Services is looking forward to expanding our reach and continuing to innovate in how we serve the aging population. We invite all community members to stay connected with us and participate in our upcoming events and initiatives.
