A Cheltenham Township man opted to accept a plea deal stemming from a February 2024 incident during his trial in Montgomery County Courts.
Raphael James Doresey, 52, of the 7400 block of Euston Road, in the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Township, was sentenced to four to ten years in a state correctional facility after pleading guilty to charges of a person not to possess a firearm and possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, according to a report by Carl Hessler Jr. in the Lansdale Reporter.
The guilty plea was part of a plea agreement, according to the article. Authorities said they began an investigation on Dorsey in January 2024. A February traffic stop earlier this year resulted in police discovering marijuana in his vehicle, after Dorsey permitted a search of his 2018 Chevy Suburban, wrote Hessler.
Police said they’d found a stolen Glock .45-caliber firearm loaded with 11 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber, as well as a 12-gauge shotgun, numerous plastic bags containing suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and ecstasy along with drug packaging materials and $6,977 cash, according to court reports.
