A fire in a home in Upper Dublin Township has first responders dispatching out Monday afternoon.

According to County Dispatch, the call was received around 12:31 p.m. for the report of a building fire, non-commercial.  Units were sent to the 400 block of Dogwood Drive in Upper Dublin for a second-floor bedroom fire. The occupants of the home were advised to evacuate the space.

Those that were first to arrive at the scene said smoke was visible from the home’s second floor. Due to the color of the smoke, fire fighters said the fire was  still active when they arrived but was quickly extinguished.

The fire was put under control around 12:44 p.m. Those at the scene said the first responders’ quick action and ventilation openings available made it possible to avoid a roof opening.

Called to the scene were units from Horsham Fire Company, Wissahickon Fire Company, Upper Moreland Township Fire Department, North Penn Fire Company, Fort Washington Fire Company, Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler, and Jenkintown Fire Department, among other first responders.
