If you were hoping to get the most of out the sunny days of fall, you may have been disappointed if you toted the kids over to Ardsley Park playground. But turn that frown upside down, because while it is currently under construction, new outdoor fun is on its way!
According to an announcement from Abington Township, work began this week to remove the existing equipment of the playground. The removal of the old, means that the new can make its way in at this favorite community park.
Township officials said that the removal of the equipment will continue through Nov. 29, with the start of the new equipment being installed on Dec. 2. Abington Township leadership said that the installation is expected to take about two weeks to complete.
As most residents know, construction projects this time of the year in Pennsylvania mean waiting to see how Mother Nature wants to cooperate or not. In other words, the timeframes are, of course, up to and dependent on decent weather.
Residents should take note that, during the construction period, the park’s playground will remain closed. Once installation is complete, the park’s key space for fun will once again be open to all.
Ardsley Park is located at Jefferson Avenue and Maple Avenue in the Glenside area of the township. It is open to the public for use from dawn to dusk each day.
