Around 2:11 p.m., the fire was considered largely under control, as firefighters continue to look for hot spots or embers. As the fire had to do with duct work in the roof, crews fear particles may remain.
Due to the emergency responders' presence, the road is closed at Lee Lynn Lane and Pine Road in Abington.

First responders are currently battling a fire at a church in Abington Township.
According to the county’s dispatch, a call was received around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday for a commercial building fire. Some witnesses at the scene reported that the issue seemed to stem from the building’s rooftop. Heavy smoke is visible, and emergency crews are checking the roof and duct work of the church to discover the problem.
The fire is at 1620 Pine Road in Abington, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Some at the scene have said crews had to evacuate students from the building, as the Montgomery Montessori School is attached to the same structure.
Early reports noted that the building’s HVAC unit may be an issue in the blaze. No official cause is available until emergency units are able to investigate the scene.
Responding to the call were units from the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad in Hatboro, Wissahickon Fire Company, Barren Hill Fire Company, McKinley Fire Company, Flourtown Fire Company, and Bryn Athyn Fire Company, along with area police and other units.
