Zack Baun's breakout season for the Eagles isn't only getting noticed locally.

Pro Football Focus says that Baun has been their highest-rated linebacker in each of the last three weeks:

Perhaps if Baun makes it four weeks in a row, PFF will realize it's Zack and not Zach.

In all seriousness, while it may have taken some time for the Eagles defense as a whole to gel under first-year coordinator Vic Fangio, Baun hit the ground running after joining the Eagles on a one-year/$1.6 million contract. Following a dominant performance in Sunday's 34-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys, Baun now has 87 combined tackles, four tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles, two quarterback hits and two sacks. He's not only a Pro Bowl candidate, but someone who should probably be in the discussion for All-Pro at the linebacker position if he continues to play this well.

The flip side of that, though, is the Eagles have discovered a diamond in the rough in the 28-year-old linebacker. If they hope to employ him beyond 2024, it's going to cost a lot more than $1.6 million.
