First responders were called out to a house fire in a residential area of Upper Moreland Township on Sunday evening.
According to emergency dispatch for Montgomery County, a call was made around 6:47 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, to the 400 block of Corinthian Avenue in Upper Moreland for a structure fire. Witnesses say that flames were showing from the front of the home.
Those at the scene said that a fire began in the living room of the home in a cabinet, and that the occupants were instructed to evacuate.
The front window of the home, on its first floor, has been smashed. It is unknown if the fire caused this or rescue units had to break the glass to put flames out.
Dispatched to the scene were Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro, Horsham Fire Company, Upper Moreland Township Police, and Upper Moreland Township Fire Company, among other emergency crews.
Corinthian is currently closed in both directions. Drivers are asked to avoid the area, between North Warminster Road and High Avenue.
