The woman is being held in county jail awaiting a preliminary hearing for intimidating a state's witness.
On Oct. 17 around 11:05 p.m., the Abington Township Police Department was dispatched to the 1700 block of Prospect Avenue in Abington to respond to a request. There, police said, they met with a homeowner who said Laura Beth Jodry, 41, of the 2300 block of Edwards Road in Roslyn, had “been outside his house tonight revving her vehicle’s engine and causing a disturbance.”
Police said the caller told them that Jodry had been standing in front of his residence “yelling very loudly, calling him a racial epithet.” The victim also told police that Jodry had told him she was going to kill him tonight, and that she was “going to burn the house down” several times, said reports.
According to reports, Jodry told the victim she was going to “shoot him in the face with a .22.” The victim told police, reports said, that he was worried because he and his brother have disabilities, and it would be difficult for them to escape a fire.
Police said the victim said he believed Jodry’s behavior was because “he is currently a witness for the Commonwealth in a criminal case in Montgomery County,” in which Jodry is the defendant, police said.
Jodry is charged with felony counts of Intimidation of a Witness, as well as misdemeanor charges of Terroristic Threats, Ethnic Intimidation, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and summary offenses including disorderly conduct and harassment.
Jodry has multiple active cases open in the Montgomery County court system. Her bail was set in district courts to $10,000 monetary bail but increased by the Court of Common Pleas to $50,000 monetary bail. She is currently held in the county jail awaiting a preliminary hearing slated for Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge John D. Kessler.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
