An Elkins Park man will go to prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and filming the incident.
Joshua Warner, 26, of the 7700 block of Union Avenue in Elkins Park, was sentenced in Montgomery County Courts, according to a post by Carl Hessler Jr., to serve seven to 15 years (and an additional three years of probation) in a state correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to charges of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, sex abuse of children, and unlawful contact with a minor. According to reports, the charges are tied to that occurred in both Upper Moreland and Horsham township locations between November 2022 and May 2023.
Warner will be placed on a sex offender list and be forced to comply with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act (previously known as Megan’s Law). Warner did not meet requirements to be a sexually violent predator, which would have potentially “triggered more stringent restrictions under state law,” Hessler reported.
According to court documents, Hessler said, Warner met the victim online as the two chatted on a social media platform called Discord. The report stated that Warner engaged in unlawful sex acts with her, knowing she was 14.
