It is always wise to plan ahead, and the Abington School District makes an effort to stay ahead of change by making strategic and well-outlined mapping of intentions, policies, and investments well ahead of their deadlines.

To that end, the district is in the process of collecting the public’s opinions on its Middle School, as it plans for the future. Launching a new community survey to gather feedback from parents, guardians, teachers, staff, the district has sent its request for more information to residents of both Abington Township and the Borough of Rockledge.

“Please note that this series of questions differs from the survey you may have taken in November,” said Dr. Jeffrey S. Fecher, superintendent of schools in a letter to area residents. “By continuing to share your thoughts on the proposed options for the Middle School, you can help ensure that the plan meets the needs of our students and aligns with our community’s expectations.”

Fecher said that the district truly wants to understand how the community feels about the matter and proposed new building.

“Your voice matters, and I encourage you to take this opportunity to contribute,” he said. “All responses are anonymous.”

Residents have until Monday, Dec. 23 to submit their thoughts via the online survey. Additionally, the survey is being done alongside a “scientific telephone survey representative of the population of Abington Township and the Borough of Rockledge.”

“The results of both surveys will be critical in shaping decisions about Abington Middle School and other facilities planning,” said Fecher.

Those that have not submitted their opinions can click here to participate in the survey. You can also request a paper survey by emailing [email protected] or picking one up at the Administration Building. The Abington Administration Building is located at 970 Highland Ave. in Abington. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
