Reports of a pedestrian struck by a truck near Holy Redeemer Hospital have first responders helping at the scene

Abington Police, Bryn Athyn Fire, and Second Alarmers are responding to the call.

UPDATE 7:47 p.m.

At this hour, the northbound lanes of Huntingdon Pike remain closed from Moreland to Moredon roads. Debris remains in the roadway.

A white, utility-style truck was at the scene with heavy passengers' side damage. At least one person involved was transported for medical care.

A pedestrian struck by a truck along Huntingdon Pike is reportedly unconscious at this hour, as emergency dispatchers assist at the scene.

According to Montgomery County Dispatch, a call for a vehicle accident with pedestrian struck was called into 911 around 6:14 p.m. at 1648 Huntingdon Pike, right in front of Holy Redeemer Hospital. The victim, who was not identified, was not conscious during initial calls for emergency medical services.

Assisting at the were units from Bryn Athyn Fire Company Ambulance, the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad, Abington Township Police, along with other first responders.

Roads are reportedly closed in the vicinity of the hospital, on its Huntingdon Pike side. Drivers are asked to utilize alternative routes as possible until the scene is cleared.

The current condition of the victim is not yet known. More information will be posted as it is made available.
